American contractor to deliver GOSP relocation and fabrication services from Al Khobar, Dammam offices.
American contractor McDermott has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract worth up to $250m from Saudi Arabia’s state-run Saudi Aramco for its offshore Marjan and Zuluf fields.
McDermott confirmed its contract includes “the full suite of EPCI services” to relocate the control rooms in Zuluf gas oil separation plant (GOSP) 4 and Marjan GOSP 2 and 3, in addition to the fabrication of boat landings and jacket members, and the upgrade of all control systems as required.
Work on the project will begin immediately, and will be carried out from McDermott’s Al Khobar office and Dammam fabrication facility, in line with its focus to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s in-country output.
The contract will reflect in McDermott’s Q2 2019 backlog.
Commenting on the contract, senior vice president of McDermott in the Mena region, Linh Austin, said: “Our extensive history with Saudi Aramco and commitment to the continued growth of the kingdom’s energy sector is reflected in this award.”
